“English with Maude”
All good things come to an end and so did this year’s “English with Maude”-programme as well. It was a year full of interesting conversations, storytelling afternoons and reading sessions from which we all could take advantage of.
In order to make the best out of the last English lesson, which was on Friday 13th May 2016, Maude prepared some delicious sandwiches for the entire class. But before we moved over to the eating part, Maude had something else up her sleeve. It was a guessing game where we had to find out what kind of means of transport we are. After the game, we could finally try the cheese-tomato-salad-sandwiches ala Maude Dearstyne. She even made us some brownies but before we could eat that, we had to try the “PB&J”. It is a typical American sandwich with peanut butter and jelly in it. It did not taste bad but I guess it would not be everyone’s favourite sandwich.
In behalf of the whole English class, I would like to thank Maude for putting up with us almost every Friday afternoon and helping us to improve our English skills.
Merve Bilgin: “It was funny and very cool. We also improved our English!”
Meryem Cetinkaya: “Those Friday afternoons soon became a routine and we had a lot of fun during our classes. I enjoyed the discussions about cultures and countries the most…”
